ACP Protégés attest to the value a mentorship adds to their professional journey. Calvin Davies, a former U.S. Navy Lieutenant, transitioned out of the Navy in 2024 and secured a position at a prestigious investment firm with the support of his ACP Mentor. 

“I really appreciate having Sean as a resource I can bounce things off of, as this is my first time going through this [civilian hiring] process,” says Davies of his Mentor. The dedicated pair met every two weeks, refining Davies’ résumé, discussing the application process, and developing his interviewing skills.

Davies is one of more than 5,100 Protégés currently in an active mentorship with ACP, which hand-selects a volunteer Mentor for each participant and provides customized support throughout the entire year.

ACP is committed to addressing issues of unemployment and underemployment in the military community. We are the only program providing high-touch, tailored guidance from industry professionals. We aim to boost financial stability, career satisfaction, and confidence among Veterans, transitioning service members, and Military Spouses.

Former U.S. Army Reserve Specialist Jenny Saul shares how working with an ACP Mentor far exceeded her initial expectations. “I was fortunate to receive guidance from the [ACP] coordinator to select the right Mentor,” says Saul. “Beyond… polishing my résumé and guiding me through various career opportunities, [my Mentor Marcie] has helped me grow as a person and a professional.”

Saul also benefited from specialized programming and events designed to meet the specific needs of our women Veterans. As part of our commitment to Protégés across many demographics, our staff speaks individually with each new Protégé to facilitate an appropriate Mentor match and to ensure we provide the right resources for a successful mentorship.

What to Expect After Applying:

  • ACP will reach out within one business day to schedule a 15-minute phone call to ask a few more questions and ensure the right Mentor match.
  • ACP will introduce you to a Mentor within a few weeks of your application to the program and will check in throughout the year to provide customized resources and ensure positive outcomes. 98% of Veterans would recommend ACP.
