November 16, 2021 - ACP has named Richard Comitz as Senior Vice President. Comitz will work closely with ACP’s senior leadership team to manage relationships with corporate partners, develop dialogues with government and military leaders, and strengthen ACP’s internal operations and management.

“Richard will be a welcome addition to ACP’s corporate relations team,” said ACP Chairman and Founder Sid Goodfriend. “With his military experience, Richard understands the importance of mentorship for veterans. His leadership in both the Army and in higher education give him a strong background for success as we work to increase our visibility among veterans who are looking for guidance and corporations who will provide mentors to help them navigate the private sector.”

Lieutenant Colonel Comitz served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years. Prior to retiring, he served as an Associate Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Most recently, Comitz was the Director of Planning and Operations at Long Island University where he oversaw university-wide assessment and evaluation processes, supported strategic planning, and served as the primary liaison to the New York State Education Department for the management of over 250 University Programs.

“Mentors have helped me get through countless situations in my life. ACP’s mission to connect veterans and spouses with business leaders helps expand an individual’s mentor network at a crucial time in their lives. I am excited and honored to be part of the ACP team,” said Comitz.

Comitz is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a master’s degree in chemistry. He further obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Florida Institute of Technology in organic chemistry.
