S&P Global Hosts Evening of Career Education and Professional Networking

On Wednesday, May 23, ACP Protégés and S&P Global employees met in S&P's New York City offices for "From the Service Field to the Corporate Office: An Evening of Career Education and Professional Networking." This event was supported by S&P's Diversity and Inclusion team and VALOR (Veterans and Allies Leading for Organizational Results), an Employee Resource Group at S&P that provides leadership and a focus on initiatives for veteran employees and families.

The event kicked off with opening remarks from Alex Matturri, the CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices. Matturri welcomed attendees and handed it off to Patrick Sherry, the Director of Global Talent Acquisition. Sherry detailed his experience transitioning from the military to the corporate world and shared his advice on job searching, resumes, and networking.

After, a panel of S&P employees and veterans discussed their own transitions, pitfalls, and successes, and they answered a number of questions from the audience. The panel was moderated by ACP Mentor and Chief Diversity Officer, Rose Lanard; on the panel were Alexis Gomond (Senior Data Associate), Thomas McGoff (Director of Global Learning & Development), Fabyan Smith (Director of Client Development and Sales), and Shaun Wurzbach (Managing Director of Channel Management and Solutions)

After the panel, attendees enjoyed an open networking reception.

ACP would like to thank S&P for organizing a wonderful and instructive evening!
