ACP Presents: From Military to Manufacturing - Leadership Begins Here at IP

On August 14th, ACP hosted an exclusive conversation with International Paper, a global leader in the paper and packaging industry specializing in renewable fiber-based products. Attendees heard from industry leaders and Veterans about what it’s like to work at this Fortune 500 company and how team members have successfully progressed from roles in maintenance, production, and operations into leadership and management positions.

Speakers included Brianna Boyd, Container board Recruiter, on how to get started at the mill level; Jay Barrow, Talent Acquisition Team Lead, with insights into box plant opportunities; Patrick Balton, part of the General Management Leadership Development Program, who shared his transition from the U.S. Navy to a leadership role; Sophia Bonds, Diversity & Recruitment Strategy Coordinator, on how International Paper supports employee growth; and Jesse Soto, Leadership Development Consultant, with tips on advancing your career from a Veteran perspective. The discussion covered critical field roles available now, pathways from entry-level to leadership, and the development programs and support systems designed to help employees thrive. This event highlighted why a career in manufacturing at International Paper offers both professional growth and long-term fulfillment.
