American Corporate Partners (ACP), a national nonprofit organization that connects post-9/11 veterans to business professionals for career guidance and mentorship, is pleased to announce the presentation of the 2015 ACP Award for Excellence in Veteran Engagement and Integration to Johnson & Johnson. ACP Founder and Chairman, Sidney Goodfriend presented the award on April 16, 2015 to Johnson & Johnson Chairman and CEO Alex Gorsky at a reception at the company’s headquarters in New Jersey, alongside members of the Johnson & Johnson Veterans Leadership Council, and more than 30 Johnson & Johnson ACP mentors.

The ACP Award for Excellence in Veteran Engagement and Integration is presented to a company and its Chief Executive Officer who lead by example in the recruiting, hiring, training, and retention of returning U.S. veterans so they may develop lasting careers –areas in which Johnson & Johnson excels.

“Johnson & Johnson is leading by example and I salute their efforts to support our nation’s transitioning veterans,” says Sid Goodfriend, ACP Founder and Chairman.

Johnson & Johnson has been a corporate partner of ACP since 2011 and has more than 150 senior employees engaged with ACP’s programs. In February 2014, Mr. Gorsky was featured in ACP’s public service campaign highlighting ACP’s online business Q&A community ACP AdvisorNet. In the 30-second spot, Mr. Gorsky encourages Americans to help returning veterans succeed in their transition to Corporate America by volunteering on ACP AdvisorNet.

This is only the second time that ACP has presented a company and their Chairman and CEO with this award, with the first one being awarded to General Electric and Jeff Immelt in 2014.

American Corporate Partners (ACP; http://www.acp-usa.org) is a New York-based national nonprofit organization founded in 2008 to address veterans' career transition needs through two free programs: a nationwide veteran mentoring program, and an online network, ACP AdvisorNet (http://www.acp-advisornet.org), offering career, employment and small business advice through a Q&A platform. More than 60 institutions nationwide have partnered with ACP's Veteran Mentoring Program to offer free corporate mentorships to the brave men and women who have served our nation.
