encore capital group“I would like to nominate my ACP mentor, Leslie, for Mentor of the Month. From the very beginning of our mentorship, she has gone above and beyond to guide me through this important career transition.

During our sessions, Leslie has helped me break down my long-term goals into practical steps through a Goal Tracker, and she walked me through my StrengthsFinder results to highlight how I can leverage my unique strengths in the civilian workforce. Together, we’ve identified my career “must-haves,” deal breakers, expectations, and values—while also uncovering what I bring to the table beyond what is written on my resume. These exercises have given me clarity and confidence as I plan my next chapter.

In our most recent discussions, Leslie reviewed my draft resume line by line and gave me actionable advice to strengthen my LinkedIn profile. She also connected me with her professional network, including colleagues in recruiting, so I could gain insight straight from hiring experts. This personal introduction and advocacy shows her commitment to not just coaching, but opening doors on my behalf.

Leslie’s mentorship has been nothing short of transformative. Her encouragement, expertise, and willingness to share her knowledge have made this process feel manageable and exciting rather than overwhelming. Everything is going great, and I truly look forward to our meetings. Each session leaves me with more clarity, confidence, and direction.

I am sincerely grateful for her guidance and continued support, and I believe Leslie embodies the very best of what ACP mentors have to offer.”

“It is with great pleasure and privilege to nominate my ACP mentor, Max Levasseur, for ACP’s Mentor of the Month. Max has been an exceptional guide in my transition from the military to the civilian workforce. From our very first conversation, he brought clarity, structure, and encouragement to what initially felt like a chaotic and uncertain process.
He’s provided thoughtful feedback on my resume and shared resources to help me refine how I present my experience to the corporate world. Thanks to Max’s encouragement and strategic advice, I pursued and secured a spot in Syracuse University’s Onward to Opportunity program, where I’ll be studying toward the SPHR certification as part of the June 2025 cohort. He also introduced me to high-impact leadership content, such as the John Maxwell corporate leadership training, to sharpen my understanding of executive strategy and corporate dynamics. What stands out most is Max’s consistency and authenticity. He listens, challenges, and supports in equal measure. His mentorship hasn’t just helped me improve my resume, transition strategy or chase credentials; it has helped me evolve with purpose and confidence into the kind of HR leader that will pay it forward.”
