“I am pleased to nominate Debi Deutsch for January’s Mentor of the Month in recognition of her exceptional commitment to mentorship and the meaningful impact she has made on the Veterans and Military Spouses she supports through ACP.
I had the opportunity to welcome Debi to the program in September 2024 and to oversee her mentorships firsthand. Debi joined ACP with extensive experience in mentorship through her role as Program Manager for HSBC’s Emerging Talent program, where she supports and mentors student interns throughout their internships and early career development. Early on, what stood out to me was her intentional commitment to one-on-one engagement, regularly creating space for individualized feedback, reflection, and growth, and her ability to seamlessly carry this thoughtful, people-first approach into her work with ACP Protégés.
Now a two-time Mentor with ACP, Debi consistently puts her Protégés at the center of every mentorship. Her current Protégé, a U.S. Army Veteran, shared, “[Debi] has been incredible. I’m genuinely surprised mentoring isn’t her full-time role—she is exceptionally skilled at it and has outstanding people skills. Connecting with her has truly been a blessing.” Debi fosters an environment where her Protégés feel safe asking questions, working through uncertainty, and learning from setbacks, while also encouraging them to think creatively, problem-solve, and build confidence as they navigate career transitions.
It has been a privilege to work alongside Debi and witness the care, intention, and professionalism she brings to each mentorship. She exemplifies the values of ACP and is deeply deserving of recognition as Mentor of the Month.”
