Mentors of the Month

April 2026: ACP congratulates Greg Beyerlein

April 1, 2026

“I would like to nominate my mentor, Greg Beyerlein as the ACP Mentor of the Month to express my gratitude for the tremendous impact he has had on my military transition. Mr. Beyerlein has provided invaluable guidance, connecting me with key industry contacts, offering resources on the IT field, and helping me understand how the civilian IT world operates. His mentorship has given me the confidence and clarity I needed as I navigate my shift from the U.S. Army to the IT industry.

I greatly appreciate Greg’s consistent willingness to share new resources and offer advice. I often find myself updating him on the companies I’ve applied to and the interviews I’m preparing for, and his thoughtful insights and encouragement have been incredibly reassuring throughout this process.

Greg’s extensive experience in the IT field further enriches the support he offers. With over two decades at CGI, he has excelled in numerous roles, managing everything from IT support contracts to large-scale DevOps efforts. His expertise spans multiple technologies and platforms, including SharePoint, AWS, and system administration, which makes his mentorship even more valuable as I work to transition into a civilian IT role. I feel confident knowing that Greg’s depth of knowledge can help guide me through any technical challenges I may face.
One of the most motivating aspects of Greg’s mentorship is his ongoing commitment to his own personal and professional growth. His pursuit of the ISC2: CISSP certification, even after years of experience, has inspired me to pick up books on AWS, Azure, and cloud computing, something I hadn’t initially considered in depth. His dedication to learning and improving has shown me the importance of continuous self-improvement.

I also admire Greg’s ability to empower those he mentors. His last mentee, under his guidance, successfully passed and earned their CompTIA SecurityX certification and is now preparing for the ISC2: SSCP exam. This is a testament to Greg’s effectiveness as a mentor and his genuine desire to see others succeed.

In addition to his technical expertise, Greg’s commitment to service is particularly inspiring. He continues to honor the legacy of his family’s military service by mentoring others and providing invaluable support to veterans like myself. This commitment to helping others succeed in their careers reflects the values of service and leadership that his family has instilled in him.

Though I’ve only known Greg for a few months, I am incredibly grateful for the guidance he’s offered. His mentorship has not only equipped me with technical knowledge but also inspired me to take proactive steps in my own professional growth. I wholeheartedly believe Greg Beyerlein embodies the spirit of mentorship, and I am honored to nominate him for ACP Mentor of the Month.”
