On October 21st, ACP hosted a dynamic conversation with IBM SkillsBuild leaders on removing traditional barriers to employment and creating new career pathways—regardless of formal education. IBM SkillsBuild, a global technology initiative from IBM, empowers individuals and communities by providing access to cutting-edge learning in cloud, AI, and consulting, while supporting Veterans, Military Spouses, and underserved groups through innovation and collaboration.
The session highlighted how IBM is advancing a skills-first approach to hiring through programs like the Skills First Coalition and IBM SkillsBuild, a free platform designed to help individuals upskill, reskill, and thrive in today’s workforce.
Featured speakers included Lydia Logan (Vice President, Global Education and Workforce Development) and Pamela Jacob (North America Corporate Social Responsibility Leader).
Attendees gained valuable insights and practical tools to support their career journeys and those of their communities. The conversation underscored IBM’s commitment to building a skills-first workforce and helping individuals from all backgrounds, including Veterans and Military spouses, gain the tools needed to succeed in an evolving job market.
