Michael Yim, US Air Force
Michael has been an outstanding protégé and fully embodies the qualities of an exceptional mentee in the ACP program. From the beginning, he placed his trust in me as a mentor and committed to meeting regularly, ensuring we built a strong and meaningful relationship. He has consistently demonstrated courage by pushing himself outside of his comfort zone, whether through his career transition, informational interviews, or developing high-impact resumes. Additionally, Michael successfully relocated his family from Hawaii to the DC area, navigated the challenges of the Veterans Affairs system, and landed not just one, but two professional roles during our time together. His willingness to listen, reprioritize, and apply advice has set him apart. He approaches challenges with a positive attitude, resilience, and humility, which has made him both a pleasure to mentor and a role model for other veterans in the program. His initiative, persistence, and openness to growth highlight exactly what can be achieved through dedication to the ACP mentorship process.
