On November 3rd, ACP hosted a conversation focused on career opportunities across the creative industries and how military-developed skills and experiences can translate into these fields. The discussion highlighted the professionals working behind museum exhibitions, publishing houses, film productions, and major cultural events, including those managing operations, logistics, technology, projects, and partnerships.
The session featured Fidel GomezTorres, Founder and Executive Director of AVAC; Monica Mohindra, Director of the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress; and Rachel Kambury, Associate Editor at HarperCollins Publishers. They shared their perspectives on the creative economy, the roles that support creative organizations, and the skills and experiences valued across these sectors.
Attendees gained insight into navigating career opportunities within the creative industries, applying their military-developed capabilities to new professional environments, and exploring pathways beyond traditional employment opportunities.
