On June 27th, ACP and Johnson Controls hosted an insightful panel about their company’s culture, military support and the variety of job opportunities for the military community in manufacturing, sales, client relations, engineering and technology. Johnson Controls is a world leader in smart buildings, creating safe, healthy and sustainable spaces. For nearly 140 years, Johnson Controls has been at the forefront of innovation. Today, Johnson Controls employs more than 100,000 employees across 150 countries, using artificial intelligence and data-driven solutions to change the way they design, operate and maintain indoor environments as the world enters a new era of autonomous buildings.
The panel featured JCI employees Rodrigo Quint, US Army Veteran and Program Manager, Talent Acquisition and Military Veteran Recruiting, and Gilda McCaskey, US Air Force Veteran and Operations Excellence Manager, Manufacturing. They discussed their personal experiences and how the military program and supportive work environment helped them leverage their skills. Key takeaways from the panel included that your military skills are transferable, and the importance of one-on-one conversations about problem-solving in manufacturing. The company culture at JCI compared to the military is always looking for ways to grow and be the best version of yourself. This event was unique as the panelists asked each other questions about their military experiences to highlight how similar or different the encounters were.
