On February 24th, ACP hosted a meaningful conversation in celebration of Black History Month focused on the power of community during the military-to-civilian transition. The session featured Dr. Candance Willett (Adjunct Professor of Health Sciences, Prince George’s Community College) and Eric Branch (Financial Advisor, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management), who discussed the impact of Black Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) on professional growth and workplace connection.
As U.S. Navy Veterans, Dr. Willett and Eric shared personal perspectives on how ERGs can provide support, mentorship, and access to career development opportunities. The discussion highlighted the importance of building community, fostering belonging, and leveraging workplace networks to create meaningful and lasting impact during and after transition.
Attendees gained valuable insight into how engagement in ERGs can strengthen both personal and professional development while navigating the next chapter of their careers.
