ACP Participants Gather at Cargill Facilities in Minneapolis, MN for Networking Event

On December 10, 2014, more than 70 ACP Mentors and Protégés gathered at Cargill facilities in Minneapolis for a networking event. Attendees were joined by representatives from Cargill, 3M, Alliant Tech Systems, Ameriprise Financial, Ecolab, General Mills, Genesis10, Medtronic, Target, Wells Fargo, and UPS.

The evening began with a keynote address by Captain Nick Swaggert, a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and recruiter at Genesis10, who highlighted the value of networking during a career search. Later in the evening, representatives from each company provided an overview of their organization and the hiring practices for military veterans. Afterward, attendees had the opportunity to network over light refreshments.

James Williams, an active member of the U.S. Navy, attended the event and wrote, “I attended a remarkable networking event hosted at Cargill headquarters in Minneapolis last night. It was remarkable for many reasons, but mostly for the outstanding support of dedicated ACP Mentors and corporate professionals that are committed to assisting veterans. As a military member, I cannot express how grateful I am to be part of such an outstanding program. Thank you.”
