Diane Bodman is a former law professor at the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.A. in English, Mrs. Bodman received her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School (Albany, New York). Mrs. Bodman later received a Masters of Law in Energy from the Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Houston School of Law, where she also taught. She has published a number of legal articles on environmental issues and is the recipient of several teaching awards.

Mrs. Bodman is a current Trustee of the public TV and radio corporation WETA, chairing the Strategic Planning Committee and is also serving as a Trustee of Ford’s Theater in Washington, DC. She is a former trustee of Albany Law School, the Boston Public Library Foundation, and the New England Conservatory of Music Advisory Board.

Mrs. Bodman also wrote several one act plays which have been produced in Washington, DC and Dallas, Texas.

Mrs. Bodman is currently a deeply involved Red Cross volunteer with the wounded Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom servicemen and servicewomen at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Mrs. Bodman facilitates and organizes recreational activities for the wounded and their families through the Red Cross. She is a recipient of the President’s Call to Service Award for Lifetime Achievement from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, the Secretary of Defense’s Medal for Outstanding Public Service, the American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 109 Award for Supporting American Veterans, and the Department of Energy’s Special Act Award for Outstanding Support of America’s Veterans. She was most recently presented with the National Red Cross Award for her outstanding service with wounded and injured members of the military.

She is the wife of former Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman. She has two children, three stepchildren, and eight grandchildren.
